Last night, we had the privilege of celebrating a major milestone—our Ribbon Cutting and Open House at the new Marion County Bank location in Knoxville! It was an evening filled with excitement, gratitude, and community spirit as we officially welcomed customers, local officials, and friends to our new space.
The event kicked off with refreshments, featuring drinks from Spire and decorated cookies from The Buttery Crumb. Guests had the opportunity to tour the new bank, see the expanded space, and reconnect with familiar faces. The highlight of the evening was the ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, marking the official opening of our new home.
Before the ribbon was cut, several Marion County Bank leaders took a moment to share their thoughts. Steve Kraayenbrink, CEO, addressed the crowd, reflecting on the journey that brought Marion County Bank to Knoxville:
"This story started about 10 years ago as we thought about what banking could look like in Knoxville. About 5 years ago, we completed the purchase of Iowa State Savings Bank. We really believe in Knoxville. There have been a lot of good things happening in the community and at the bank since that time. We couldn't be more excited. Our commitment to Knoxville is very strong, and we want to do everything we can to serve the community well."
Lisa Walters, Executive Vice President, spoke about the dedication of our team and the opportunities this new space provides:
"Construction always takes longer than you want, but the tellers have been patient with the process. We are glad some of them were able to join us here tonight. I know they are excited about the additional space this building provides, and we're excited for them as well. We’re also thrilled to add the ability for customers to walk into the bank again. It's one more way we can provide great service to our customers."
Regional Vice President, Dylan Morse, shared his enthusiasm for the progress in Knoxville:
"It's fun to be part of all the positive forward momentum that we have all seen in the community. And, minus some landscaping, it's exciting to be at the finish line for this facility. What a great representation of what the bank is and will be for the community. I thank everyone for being here tonight."
Following the remarks and the ribbon cutting, Nathan Sage, Knoxville Chamber Director, presented Steve with a Recognition Certificate, highlighting the bank’s investment in the community. The event brought together a wonderful mix of bank customers, current and former employees, chamber board members, community leaders, city officials, and members of the press, all celebrating this exciting new chapter for Marion County Bank in Knoxville.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening so special. We are thrilled to continue serving Knoxville with this new space and look forward to growing together in the years ahead!
