What fees/charges are there for consumer loans?
The only consumer loan fees charged by Marion County Bank are for late payments. A small lien fee is also charged if we are securing the loan with a vehicle title.
Can I get a loan with no credit history?
Obtaining a loan is still possible with no credit history. Each of our local offices has experienced loan officers who will advise on the best approach for beginning borrowers.
What is the difference between a personal loan and a vehicle loan?
Both personal and vehicle loans are considered to be consumer loans and the application process is the same for both. Vehicle loans are for the purpose of purchasing or refinancing a vehicle. Personal loans can be for a variety of other purposes. Collateral security is often, but not always, required for both loan types.
What is collateral?
Collateral is an asset that you own that you pledge to secure the loan. For personal or vehicle loans, this is often a vehicle that you own. If the loan is not repaid as agreed, the lender can seize the collateral to recover the amount owed.
If I'm approved to refinance my vehicle loan from another lender, what information will you need?
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and from your lender: a ten-day payoff, your loan account number, and the lender's address.
