Friday night’s basketball game between Pella and Pella Christian wasn’t just about points on the scoreboard or an intense cross-town rivalry—it was about coming together and giving back! During halftime, students from both schools took the court for Bucks for Baskets, an exciting challenge that turned made shots into a bank donation to their schools.

Eight students stepped up to the challenge, sinking layups, free throws, three-pointers, and even half-court shots—all earning donations for their school’s Student Activity Fund. The highlight of the night? A made half-court shot, which scored a whopping $1,000 donation by itself! By the end of the event, the bank donated $4,325 to support student activities at both schools.

The giving doesn’t stop there! When Pella and Pella Christian face off again on February 7, another Bucks for Baskets event will add even more to the total. Since 2004, these halftime events have raised over $148,000 for local schools, and we are proud to keep the tradition going.

More Chances to Win Big!

Mark your calendars—Bucks for Baskets is coming to Melcher-Dallas on January 14 and Knoxville on January 28. We can’t wait to see more students take their best shots for a great cause!

Thank you to all the students who participated, and we’ll see you on the court again soon!
